John Richmond, Co-Founder and CEO

Richmond Vona is a veteran-owned law firm. Co-founder Keith Vona, a proud Marine from Buffalo, built the firm with the same discipline, grit, and dedication to service that defined his time in the Marines. After returning home, Keith served as a police officer before pursuing his education at Buffalo State College and later the University of Buffalo School of Law. He and co-founder and CEO John Richmond crossed paths years later while working at the same law firm, and discovered a shared drive to advocate for the people of Western New York.

Former service members have always played a vital role in our community, and at Richmond Vona, that spirit of duty continues every day, in every case. Keith and our team proudly represent veterans and families across the region, including those impacted by mesothelioma and other serious injuries.

The Richmond Vona team is a group of highly compassionate individuals who not only excel in their practice, but are deeply dedicated to serving their community. They support countless important causes around WNY. I work at Compeer of Greater Buffalo, a mental health nonprofit organization, and Richmond Vona has supported our clients in several ways, from volunteering to mentor youth, to donating holiday gifts for our youth clients to supporting our work with veterans. They have also committed to having all of their staff trained in Mental Health First Aid so that they can support their clients’ and fellow colleagues’ mental wellbeing. Alissa is a pleasure to work with, as is John, Keith, Elizabeth and Team Cieri. Thank you for all you do, Richmond Vona!

Meet Keith Vona: A U.S. Marine Dedicated to Justice and Community

Before becoming one of Buffalo’s leading personal injury attorneys, Keith Vona served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His military service shaped the discipline and drive he carries into his work today, driving his commitment to integrity, accountability, and community involvement. He remains hands-on with every client, treating each case with the same focus and loyalty he learned in the Marines.

Presenting Sponsor of the Buffalo Veterans Race

From day one, Richmond Vona has been a presenting sponsor of the Buffalo Veterans Race, an event that raises money for a different veterans’ organization each year. The firm’s support extends beyond sponsorship, with team members participating in, volunteering for, and helping to ensure that each race achieves its goal of strengthening the local veteran community.

I would highly recommend with five stars! They are knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. I also like that they are involved with our community. I recently participated in their Veterans Day run, and it was a great event. Way to go Richmond Vona!

Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park Partners

Richmond Vona is also a proud community partner of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, where our attorneys participate in community initiatives honoring local service members. This partnership reflects our belief that supporting veterans extends beyond words and promises; it’s about taking consistent action and fostering community involvement.

Richmond and Vona personally get involved with their clients but even more in the community. RV has volunteered at community events including supporting our Veterans. Without their vision and support, the strength of these community events would not be possible.
