A tour bus, on its way back from a beautiful trip to one of our favorite spots, Niagara Falls, was in a terrible crash this afternoon on I-90 near Pembroke. The news has left us all completely heartbroken.
“My first reaction to today’s tragic tour bus crash on I-90 near Pembroke is heartbreak for the families whose lives have been forever changed. The reports make clear this was a single-vehicle rollover that caused multiple fatalities, including a child, and serious injuries to many others. Anytime a bus carrying dozens of passengers loses control like this, the consequences are catastrophic. Incidents like this highlight just how quickly lives can be turned upside down, and why safety, accountability, and thorough investigation are so critical. Right now, my thoughts are with every victim, their loved ones, and the first responders who rushed into a devastating scene. In the days and weeks ahead, answers will be needed, but today is about compassion for those suffering an unimaginable loss.”
This isn’t just another story on the news for us. This tragedy hit us right at home. The Thruway where this happened, is the same road some of us drive every day to get to work, to visit our families, and to enjoy everything Western New York has to offer. So many of us at the firm grew up here, live here, and have family all over this community. To know that such a devastating event happened so close to us, affecting people who are a part of our own lives, is truly painful.
Niagara Falls holds a special place in our hearts. It’s a source of local pride and a place where we’ve all made countless happy memories. It’s incredibly sad to think that a trip that started with such joy had such a tragic end.
