What Made John Richmond Want To Become a Lawyer

Ultimately, I wanted to become a lawyer because I wanted to help people. I’m definitely a very competitive person. I grew up playing hockey, I was a goalie, and I really took to being there and being reliable for my teammates, taking the pressure off them and learning how to operate in really high pressure environments and being exposed to lawyers at a younger age, I was able to basically really look at them and say, if I was going to do something, I think I’d love to be a trial lawyer, but if I’m going to be a trial lawyer, I really want to do it for the right reasons and I want to help people. I want to represent people who are essentially being bullied by insurance companies, be their voice to tell their story. Talking to older trial lawyers and getting to see trials in action, I realized that’s exactly what I wanted to do, and that’s exactly why I went to law school. I’m really proud of my experience trying cases and helping people.
