How do you prove fault in a rear-end collision case?
In a rear-end collision case, it’s still important to prove fault. Typically, people presume, well, I was rear-ended, it must be the other person’s fault. And look, it typically is, but we take every case seriously. So, if you were rear-ended, we are still going to put forward the same investigation we always would in any type of case. We’re going to send out investigators to collect witness statements, to collect video surveillance footage if it’s there. As long as everything lines up and that the person who was rear-ended did not stop too abruptly, didn’t do anything that could put them at fault, it’ll be clear the driver who rear-ended them is at fault. And then we’ll be able to hold them responsible and move on to damages.
