How Long Do Personal Injury Cases Take?

I’ve been practicing personal injury law my entire career. It’s all I’ve ever done. And we often get the question, how long is this gonna take? And it, it’s a great question. It’s really a logical question that everybody should ask. And it, the question really, or the answer really is it depends and it depends on the nature of your injuries, the severity of your injuries, how they’ve affected you and your family, how much treatment you’re gonna have, how it’s gonna affect you in the future, and then how much insurance coverage is available. You have to weigh all these things and put it all together. And ultimately that is gonna generally dictate how long these cases take. But I would say I’ve seen cases take anywhere from a month, uh, to four or five years. It really just depends. Typically, the more serious the case, the longer it’s gonna take, especially if there’s a lot of insurance available.

‘Cause these insurance companies are designed to drag it on as long as possible. They have attorneys that are appointed who are defense attorneys who bill by the hour. They’re not like us where we only get paid if we win. So there’s no risk to our clients whatsoever. So we’re designed to move cases as quickly as we can, but we have to be patient because we don’t wanna rush into a settlement before we know the full extent of the injuries, how much treatment our client’s gonna have, how this really affects their life, how much money they’re gonna, they’ve lost in the past and they may lose in the future. We have to be careful, but we are designed here at the firm to push as quickly as we can. Whereas the other side really is designed to drag it out, especially if they know they’re gonna end up paying a lot of money down the road.

But what we do here is we have an amazing team who’ve always pushes hard, who is incentivized to not ask for extensions in lawsuits, to actually push the pace in lawsuits. We have the best technology money can buy. We use artificial intelligence. We use everything we possibly can to get that edge or at least level the playing field against the insurance company to try to push them quicker. But we will never, ever settle for less in an attempt to get people out the door. We take cases as long as we need to. We keep our clients updated every step of the way and ultimately work to get them the most money possible.
