Finances and Insurance Company Tricks: Two Main Reasons People Don’t Contact Injury Lawyers
So there’s two main reasons why people typically don’t call personal injury law firms after they’ve been injured in an accident. Number one is they’re afraid of how much a lawyer’s gonna cost. And, and we get that. People see on tv these big expensive lawyers in these really fancy offices that are getting paid hundreds if not thousands of dollars an hour. And of course it’s understandable that people wouldn’t want to call an attorney ’cause they say, I can’t afford that. Okay? And number two reason that people typically don’t call lawyers is the insurance company to tricks ’em. Often times after an accident, you’ll get a call within the first day or two from the other driver or the opposing party’s insurance company. They’ll be super nice to you. They’ll ask you for information you’re not supposed to give them. They’ll take a recorded statement from you, oh, this is all part of the process. It’s not, they’re not entitled to any of that. What they then do is say, Hey, this is typically what we settle in these cases for. Let me cut you a check. I’ll send it to your door tomorrow. Just sign this document. That’s it. But people don’t understand is if you do that, you’re done. The case is over. And what they’re trying to do is get out of it as cheaply as possible. The beautiful thing about our firm is we only get paid if we win. No tricks, no exceptions. We front all the costs, all the expense of getting you the most money we possibly can. And we only get paid if we win. And if we win, we get our expenses back. That’s it. There’s no exceptions. That’s called a contingency fee. And it’s a beautiful model because that’s how we level the playing field against insurance companies. If insurance companies knew that firms like mine say were taking or billing by the hour, they would drag cases on knowing that most people can’t afford us or if they started to pay us, they’d have to end it and take low ball settlement offers ’cause they couldn’t afford to keep going. But again, we only get paid if we win and, and that’s a beautiful thing. There’s zero financial risk to our clients and allows us to really hold these insurance companies accountable and get our clients the money they deserve. I tell clients all the time, we’re totally straight here and we’re very transparent. Look, we’re a business, but we are business designed to help you. And the beautiful thing is we only get paid if we win. And obviously the more we get you, the more that our firm makes. So we are incentivized to get you as much money as possible. And that’s what we do all day, every day. I think a lot of firms try to hide that. But look, let’s just be honest with people and people know that we’re a business, but again, we don’t represent corporations. We do not represent insurance companies. We only represent people and that’s how we’ll always will.
