I understand that lots of times people want to try to cross the street where it’s convenient for them. And that doesn’t always mean where there’s a crosswalk, but we always encourage people, please stick to the crosswalks, you know, use the signals, press the button, wait for your turn to walk. God forbid if you are injured by somebody who’s not paying attention in a car, at least you can say you were in the crosswalk, you were following the rules, you had the the walking signal, and then we can really make sure that the insurance company from the other driver doesn’t try to put any blame on you. Avoid the urge to cross where it’s merely convenient, away from the crosswalk, walk the extra couple minutes to the crosswalk, and be safe.
