How Do You Reassure Clients Who May Be Concerned About The Cost, Duration, or Complexity of Their Cases?
It’s common for clients to be concerned about a few things when they are approaching a firm like ours. The first thing is cost. And the best thing is we only get paid if we win. There are no exceptions. There are no tricks. It’s that simple. It’s called a contingency fee. And it really means that if and only if we are able to get you a settlement that you accept and that you want, we then get our attorney’s fees and we get our cost and disbursements back. That’s it. Again, there’s no tricks, there’s no exceptions.
And the reason why we operate like that is because if the insurance companies knew that we were charging by the hour, they would know that most normal people would not be able to afford our services — or if they could in the beginning, they would have to tap out quickly and accept less than what they deserve. So, we think this is the fairest way to do it. And if a client hires us and either we do an investigation and find out that we can’t help them, or if they decide that they don’t want to work with us anymore, they owe us nothing.
Clients are also often concerned about how long their case will take. And I believe that’s a really fair question and a fair concern because you hear a lot of tales out there or a lot of stories about how clients’ cases take 5, 6, 7 years. We pride ourselves on moving our clients’ cases — for the most part — much quicker than that. And we’re able to do that because we take on less clients. We have more team members. We have the best systems and processes, the best technology. And our team members are motivated and incentivized to move our clients’ cases along as quickly as possible — but without sacrificing the amount of money we can get our clients.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what we’re hired to do: get our clients the most money. We are not some settlement mill. We are not like some of these TV lawyers who just want to get you the first settlement offer and get you out the door so they can move on to the next. So look, sometimes these cases can take time, but the way we reassure our clients about the duration is you’re going to be in constant contact with us. We’ll communicate with you any way we can, in any method you prefer. You’ll always know what’s going on. You’ll be involved in every decision. We’re able to usually get these cases done — in our opinion — quicker than most of our competitors.
Lastly, clients are worried about the complexity of cases and — and look, that’s why you have to hire a really experienced personal injury law firm who has extensive experience in that area of the law, understands the complexion of the case, can break it down, can retain the best experts, and ultimately get you the best settlement possible.
