May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and the resources available for those who are struggling. Working in the legal field can be stressful and demanding, and it’s important to prioritize mental health in both our personal and professional lives.
At our law firm, we realize mental health is an essential component of overall wellness, and we’re committed to promoting mental health awareness. Supporting our clients, colleagues, and community is at the core of our company. In fact, attorney John Richmond has volunteered with Compeer’s 1-1 youth friendship program since 2020.

At our law firm, we’re committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for both our colleagues and clients. We know mental health challenges can be difficult to talk about, but we want to encourage open and honest communication.
A few weeks ago, we invited Compeer to our office for an all-day mental health first aid class. This essential training educated us about how to identify and support someone who may be at risk for developing a mental illness. The training reviewed warning signs, when and how to call for professional help, and provided dozens of mental health and substance abuse resources.

As we continue to observe Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to remind our colleagues and clients it’s okay to prioritize their mental health. We encourage everyone to take the time to check in with themselves and those around them, and to seek help if they need it. Together, we can create a culture of support and wellness in the legal profession and beyond.
