What is considered a catastrophic injury case, and how do they differ from other injury cases?
A catastrophic injury case is a case where the injury is life-changing; where somebody’s injury is going to drastically impact their life forever. It could mean that they’re never going to be able to work again, it could mean that they’re not going to be able to give the same love and support to their spouse that they used to, that they’re not going to have the same ability to provide for their family, that they’re going to have severe physical limitations or that they will need constant care from medical providers at their home or through facilities. And these cases are different from other personal injury cases in the sense that, of course, there’s a lot more on the line, these cases tend to have to be heavily litigated with a lot of experts involved, just to make sure that we’re not leaving any money on the table and we’re accounting for everything that our client’s going to go through, because there’s only one chance of these cases, there’s no going back. So it’s our job, especially in catastrophic cases, to make sure that we’re getting every single penny that’s available, every single penny that our client deserves, to make sure that they’re set up to take care of themselves and their families in the future.
