Tamara Jacobowitz, 53, Died in Williamsburg, Brooklyn Dump Truck Accident by Hooper Street and Wythe Avenue
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN (January 19, 2026) – A 53-year-old woman identified as Tamara Jacobowitz has died in a Williamsburg dump truck accident by the intersection of Hooper Street and Wythe Avenue.
New York City officials are saying that the accident took place on December 9. Tamara Jacobowitz was crossing Williamsburg Street West with a traffic signal in her favor.
A dump truck driver failed to slow down and collided with the victim. Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help her.
She was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving measures, Tamara Jacobowitz later died at the hospital on January 5.
The dump truck driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. As of January 9, no arrests for the collision have been made.
